x64 Components Addon- Do you want to watch your favorite video in MediaCenter? The codec packs contains a Settings Application to use in conjunction with your windows media center setup which will enable each user to choose different splitters and decoders for specific filetypes.

The Shark007 codec releases are the only supported 32bit packages to use in conjunction with this installation.

You will experience reduced functionality using any other package. Windows x64 is required for installation.

To setup FLAC audio playback  in Windows Media Center you must initially select the x64 WMP as the default player. For Windows 7 Media Center users, this can be set back to the 32bit afterwards.

If you decide to choose the x64 version of Windows Media Player as your default player,Windows Explorer will automatically differentiate between the 2 media players as depicted below.

The Application allows each user to maintain individual codec settings while at the same time seamlessly integrating any administrative commands directly into the users account.

New users accounts are detected upon opening the Application and automatically inherit the Administrators settings.

2 versions of Windows Media Player exist on x64 systems.There is a 32bit version stored in \Program Files (x86)\and a 64bit version stored in \Program Files\

The Settings Application will allow you to choose the system’s default player.You can expect ongoing x64 support as the rest of the world catches up to 64bit computing.

Adding files to the Windows Media Player Playlist:

On the Help TAB of the 32bit Settings Application is a button to allow you to choose Windows Media Player Filetype Associations. This buttons functionality is GLOBAL and is not restricted to the 32bit environment.

Once you have used this button, you can Enqueue newly associated filetypes to the Windows Media Player Playlist as depicted below.

It also sets up Media Center to utilize the associations for seamless playback in that player also. If for some reason this doesn’t work for you, go back to the associations button, click No twice, consecutively, then select Yes. No reboot is required.

Note:

- The 32bit player has better codec support at this time provided by the Vista Codec Package.

- UNINSTALL you old version before installing a newer release.
When choosing to uninstall this product, ensure you uninstall it BEFORE removing the 32bit release.
