Power Video Cutter application was designed to be a digital video converter / cutter.The main function of Power Video Cutter is to convert video files from one format to another and cut a part of file into new video file.

The program supports AVI, MPEG-1/2, DVD/SVCD/VCD, DAT, ASF, WMV, Divx, xVid, MOV, MP4, M4V, MPA, 3GP, MKV, F4V, RM, RMVB, FLV, VRO video formats.

If you have a video you want to cut down, or pick out certain parts, you can use a program like this to make your edits.

Power Video Cutter has many output profiles, depending on what you want to do. These range from iPod ready formats, to Xbox 360 or Sony PSP set ups. Alternatively, you can choose your video/audio codec, bitrate and so on yourself.

After starting the program and a close inspection of the user interface, I’ve run into a button providing an interesting feature. Instead of a long ‘Help’ file, the producer provides an animated tutorial.

This explains step by step what do you have to do in order to cut the beginning and/or the end of your movie. All its features are listed on the user interface.

And the steps are easy to complete. At first you have to select the file you want to work with and the folder where you want the output file to be saved.

The output file types are AVI, MPEG, WMV, MOV, MP4, RM, 3GP, FLV, and SWF. The output file can be silent if you select the disable audio check-box before starting the process. For each output file type you can set some options like audio or video bit-rate and width or height. You can select the parts to cut in two different ways.

First, you can watch the video file and press the appropriate button for the start and the end point. In the second case you can press the ‘Edit Start Time’ and/or the ‘Edit End Time’ and enter the start/end values where you want the file cut.
